Funny how you say "5.slow"....Take a look at the year that the motor was built.  That motor has been around since before you were born.  Yes they are slow stock compared to a lot of the cars on the street now, but if you throw maybe $500-$1000 at it, that motor will shit all over anything on the street.  Not the forget the fact that the 5.0 302ci motor hasn't been touched since 1995.

Oh and btw....How can you call the 5.0 slow?  I mean you drive a 2nd gen Eclipse GS with a POS 4 cylinder (and yes that is a fact...Those 4 cylinder motors are trash).  I can understand how you can relate to a car being slow, but the 5.0?  Have you ever driven one?  Better yet...try racing one...see who's slower

Actually the FR500 (Ford Racing's Race Car) version of the new 2005 Mustang is winning tons of races in the grand prix I believe.  I read an article where it stated that the car won at Daytona and it won somewhere else, back to back.  As far as the Saleen goes, I think you're getting confused with Steeda.  Saleen doesn't actively compete in races anymore, and I'm not sure, but I can't remember them ever racing in the Grand Prix or any other events.  The Steeda Q Race Car, however, is a very quick car that does compete in some autocross events and maybe a few others.  Information can be found at www.steeda.com

I agree.  I like a nimble car that corners well.  mustangs are cool, but when you dirve one, they are hard to drive fast on the street unless you're at a stoplight.  It can be done, it is just a lot harder...the car gets away from you fast when taking a windy road too fast.  Oh well.  i would like to get a new quasiturbine engine car. lol.  or settle for a henkel rotary.

ok look stang when I say saleen I mean the saleen s7 which races since it is one of the fastest cars ever built. I didn't mean the mustang saleen. look it up at www.saleen.com and click on the s7 model... great specs on that one.

Also, in response to Mustangs sucking in corners....welll duh lol...They have solid rears (except for the cobras).  They were specifically built to go fast in a straight line, although SVT decided to change that up by trying to send the Cobra's into the autocross direction by putting in an IRS.  Nothing like being in a parking lot in the rain and just giving the car a little gas while your making a turn....You guys ever ride those "teacups" at amusement parks?  Yea it's kinda like that lol

Oh and yes...fart can's do suck.  I never knew they stuck the same weed wacker motors into cars

i agree stang, the SRT is still a neon, and is like false advertising if you ask me, and yes its faster than my passat, but at least my car doors don't shake when i go over a bump, but then again its an affordable way to hit the streets hard, i guess its a trade off you pay for what u get, I love sports cars i just cant afford one that I really like, and I don[t want to buy a used one cuz i don[t want somebody else's problems, thats why i bought a motorcyle, its faster, cheaper, better gas mileage, and will pwn any car out there, I think the best bang for the buck for myself would be the STI, 300 HP 300 lbs of tourqe, for @ 34 grand, but thats just me
