Ok I live in Florida and boy do we have some stupid people here. But to be fired over a pin which plainly states our own"Pledge of Allegiance"? Ya this country has lost its way I think. To hell with what was fought over many years ago. We forget so easily about the past and what had to be done to earn our rights in this country. Man this makes me not want to shop at Home Depot and I am Hispanic, that like where we live lol.

Well honestly the company has a dress code for a reason. Now the only argument here should be that didn't do anything in the first year. I mean you don't see bussiness men wearing "Budda Rules" pins do you? Also if you did you would question that person's profesionalism. Why does working at Home Depot change that. People that are not Christian are going to question that person's professionalism and perhaps be offeded by the pin. Of course Home Depot wants to protect themselves from this kind of situation and why this kind of "dress code" is in place.

I'm sure someone probably got offended by it, maybe one of his co-workers that saw him reading his bible. I don't think they have much of a case though, sadly, the company has a dress code and his right to free speech does really trump that in a working enviroment. He, of course, has the right to wear that pin, but not if he wishes to remain in the employ of Home Depot.
I think what's worse though, is that someone would be offended by such a thing. Even if that person isn't a Christian, to be so uptight as to to complain about someone (very mildly) expressing their opinion about God and country is just plain sad. Everyone gets so offended in this country, you can't say anything that someone opposes without them trying to silence you. But America is founded on the principle that you don't have to be silent in your opinions, but that you shouldn't be able to silence those opinions of others.
Not to mention, as the article said, the same slogan appears on our money. Something tells my Home Depot has no problem taking that with open arms.

Well that's just it. It's all about the money. They want to make sure that everyone that comes through those doors is going to buy something. If even the simplist thing is going to sway that person's buying choice, of course they're gonna ban it from the store.

Looking beyond the God point, which in my opinion is important and he should have every right to express...I think what is even sadder is the fact that he was trying to show support for our country, and troops, especially his brother. We would not be living in a free country with all these freedoms of speech and such if it was not for the solders in the past and present and any in the future for that matter, who are willing to fight, and possibly sacrifice their lives so that we may live free! I come from a family of service men, and veterans hold a special place in my heart. They do not get thanked enough and treated the way they should for their selfless act of fighting for our freedom! I think it is sad that more ppl in this country don't show their support! God Bless America is what I say!!
