The only time waiting I hate is before the round starts and you switch your class you have to wait like 15 seconds. Other than that it's all good.

I don't think lowering them was such a good idea! It was like they wouldn't stop coming at us last night! Maybe vanilla is the way to go!

i havent played since they were changed...but what they were at was like pulling teeth specially on defense on a crappy team where 3/4 of the team is dead all at the same time sucks....but personally i don't think it should be so bad, only off the start on a PL map

I like the old times better than the new times personally. I know I was for them to be lowered, but the wave of offense when you are on defense is ridiculous...We had "stacked teams" last night and still got rolled....thought they were stacked at least.

guys, you can still have a 15 second respawn while on red. I only lowered it by a little bit. Sometimes the red team does respawn very quickly even in a vanilla server. Every map also is different and that is built into the map itself. CP_DUSTBOWL can have really long spawn times or it can have really short ones. On a vanilla server I have seen it both ways. Yes it is iratating, but that is just how this game can be.
I would honestly rather have it be more of a challenge then no challenge at all.

Can we please fix the fucking spawn times? These 10 and 15 second spawn times are bullshit...I don't even want to play in my own server anymore. The vanilla spawn times are a balance feature built into the game....you fuck with that you fuck up the game. Let me know when you change them back so I can play in my own motherfucking server again. Until then I'll just play elsewhere.

I agree with smurf, although not so harshly.
Valve has optimized the respawn times to provide an optimum balance for each team. When a team is winning, their respawn times are reduced so that they have an advantage. When a team is losing, their respawn time is increased so they have a disadvantage. This provides for games that end, and do not go into stalemate/overtime all the time.
"Balance" doesn't mean that each team should have the same exact advantages/disadvantages that the other team has. It means that if a team is winning, they should be able to finish winning.
The reason the payload maps are becoming so unbalanced toward RED now, is because of the respawn times. If the BLU team is constantly pushing the cart, they get 2 or 3 second respawns, which helps them continue pushing the cart. Right now, they get NO reward for playing well. Similarly, both teams get no DISadvantage for playing poorly; they always respawn in the same time intervals.
The game was also balanced this way so teams could have a chance to get to the front lines. As it is now, if RED is doing a good job defending, their respawn time does not get lower, so they have a really tough time continuing their defense, whlie the BLU team is not penalized for not doing a good job, and is able to overtake the map because their respawn is 5 seconds shorter than the team that is doing better.
I have the same issue with this that I have with every item in the "Should we put this on the server" thread. If we want to have a fun server with instant respawn and 500 stickies per demo, 800 sentries per Engineer and 10 second ubercharge charging with 50 second ubers let's install another TF2 server.
tl;dr: Put the respawn times back to the way Valve optimized them.
