Left 4 Dead Splitscreen: A first for PC gaming?

Are there any other modern PC games that allows split screen play? I can't think of any.
Tonight I learned that Left 4 Dead does support it, and you can play with any controller you can hook up with USB (Although xbox 360 ones works best).
On a widescreen monitor, splitscreen looks great, and it's very playable.
Although I disagree with Lef4Dead acting too much like a console game, this feature is great. Finally I can have someone else playing a game with me that's not even in the next room, but actually on the same machine, without having to own a console.
So, long story short, Valve is still awesome.

A veteran is someone who, at one point in his life wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America ' for an amount of 'up to and including my life.' That is Honor, thank one for it.
