Well, I played with practically a full server (10 people) yesterday from HL2 to the end of EP2.

Apart from crashes and NPCs not cooperating (causing us to skip maps), and the extremely loud loudspeaker voices, it actually works pretty well. They're supposed to release an update soon, so hopefully it will fix most of the problems!
