that happend to me, and it was my motherboard.

Try to reset the bios by taking out your CMOS battery and putting it back in.  If that doesn't fix it you'll need to talk to someone other than myself.

Does it POST (beep when you startup the machine)?  Some machines don't make the POST beep anymore so only matters if you used to get the beep at every start.  If your machine is one of those w/ no POST beep then I'll follow up in later message.

If no beep, then take out all components from mobo other than CPU (and fan) and 1 stick of RAM.  Do you get POST on start now?
- If no, then try with another RAM stick.  If still no, then problem is either i) mobo, ii) CPU, iii) RAM, or iv) in rare circumstances power supply.  Only way to further narrow down issue is to try these components in another machine that works fine.

If you get a beeps using barebones (CPU + RAM) then add other components one by one (video card first, then connect back CD/DVD drive, then hard drive, then audio card and other stuff) and restart after each addition to figure out the culprit.  Note that till your system has CPU + RAM + video card, you won't get regular POST but you should hear some beeps if have CPU + RAM only.

Stupid question, but have you checked your monitor connection? Or tried to boot with a different graphics card?

cut it down to basics.  how many hard drives are on there?  pull the extras off.

How many video cards?  do you have multiples?

how many CDROM/DVDROMs you got?  you pulling too much juice out of the PS?

check connections, and stick your monitor on your laptop or another PC to make sure the monitor is fully functional.  isolate it to your PC.

In the absence of POST beep, I guess you can still boot with just the CPU + RAM + Video-card and see if your computer pops up any boot messages.

Also, I am pretty sure you can buy some computer (internal?) speakers for ~$5 which you connect to mobo to hear the POST beep.  I think lack of beep is due to mobo not having a speaker rather than not actually communicating with beeps.
