Well I'm not going to get into details but my Step-dad wants me to build him a new PC. Yes i did just build him one, but he sold it and now he wants a new one. His top price is 2000$. He for sure wants an old style (BLUE AND SILVER) G15 Keyboard and wants to run vista64 ultimate and a 22" widescreen LCD monitor. Everything else is up in the air. I built him one for around 1982.00 on newegg and included a set of 2:1 speakers. Anyone bored whip up a wishlist or something and post it up. Just looking for sum input. Thanks guys

I put together a shared wish list on newegg for just under $2,000.  Contains vast majority of stuff you want including monitor, mouse, speakers, etc. but I may have missed a couple of small things.  Clearly, there are a lot of decisions for you to make wrt should you sacrifice on case, sound, etc. to get a better graphics card, do you really need a $50 mouse, etc.

Final price doesn't include benefit of mail-in rebates but also excludes shipping costs.

Wish list is called "Rig for RaGe"

https://secure.newegg.com/NewVersion/Wishlist/PublicWishDetail.asp?WishListNumber=7935072&WishListTitle=Rage+Father

First off luggage going ati is not good I am an ATI fanboy and I even say this. Also the freezer is just as good as the stock cooler unfortunately. Also always include a floppy drive. I dont care what people say its better to have it and not need it. As i needed mine for my bios that is fucked right now. WD also have have more of a tendency to die adnt he fact of the matter is they have very low cash so if you are trying to move large files its a bitch. The case doesnt have a removable mb  tray which is a very nice feature and one a case should have especially at that price. Along with that the position of the powersupply would require you to make sure you have extra long cables coming off your power supply. That along with the fact that there is nothing helping to keep the power supply heat from coming in the case is bad. Frankly its been proven that hard drives dont need to be cooled as much as was originally thought so the front 120mm fans arnt great. Then there is the fact that most mobo are manufactured to have cool air blowing down on them against the board to create the cooling in which case the 120mm fan in the back does not help with that. What would help would be a side fan. Then there is your power supply it does not have a single 12v rail which means it is not going to have as stable voltages also the fact that its a single fan and not a dual fan means its not as good as pc power and cooling. I threw on a Xigmatek http://www.madshrimps.be/?action=getarticle&number=5&artpage=3452&articID=827 cooler its a direct heatpipe heatsink setup so it cools really well its just under the 80 dollar thermalright coolers. Samsung burner is better so i changed that in mine. I went with the mx518. I also dont have onboard sound which is a plus.

I have spent some time modifying things. I managed to get the price lower. It will also have some extreme cooling and you will have to move the one 80mm fan on the side to the outside of the window its not hard to do though. The heatsink will just fit as it is what I have in mine. Replacing the 120mm with the silverstone one will be much better performance. I have the coolest temps on air cooling on techpowerup and i dont even have the 2 80mm fans in the front that I added on your build. It should perform like a beast if you get my build.

BTW this post was just done for informational reasons into why i do what i do for builds. There is probably a bunch of other things i didnt think of but i want to play tf2 now so...

9600gt don't perform as well as 8800gt the powersupply i listed has a peak of 850w and sustained power at 750w. Quad core is extremely useless at this point nothing takes full advantage of it including vista. I included the price of vista ultimate. Check the ftp this would give you more money to mess with lol.

Quad-core isn't really supported yet by software or operating systems.
