do not get a Creative Labs card if you are using Vista. Creative has purposely made most of the functions of the cards not work with Vista and will not develop them to use all the functionality of the cards.

Good thing you told me this, in case I consider getting a sound card. Why are they doing this and what card should we use with Vista to get high quality sound for gaming?

I am looking at the new $90 - $100 card from ASUS which supposedly competes with the X-fi cards.

I thought they only made motherboards. I take it it's not EAX capable.

The Fatality has 64mb of onboard ram to take some of the sound processing load off the cpu. Good cards for XP - not Vista..

I will guarantee that every part of the card is not working in your system. Creative themselves have said parts of it do not work in Vista cause they have not developed portions of the software to work in Vista.
