not necessarly gave up so to speak... but i believe he discussed it with his advisors to see if it was even worth fighting... then they believed that they were too far out of reach to win.

Its called being smart, knowing when your defeated and waiting for another day.  By dragging it out he would lose the respect of the Americans (who at least notice how politics work) and he would still lose.

I believe he was correct with challenging it last night, then "giving up" after discussing it over the night.

But Bush deserved to win becasue i am a strong believer of the popular vote.

yeah phokus, there was no possible way for him to win. knowing this fighting would have been completely pointless. in his concession speech he said we need to unite under Bush, which was an incredibly classy thing to say.  Kerry took the high road, knew he was defeated and urged America to reunite.  If he had challenged the vote it would have divided the country even further, causing mayhem in the coming years.  America does need to unite in order to survive, and Kerry knew this and did something about it.  Mad props to Kerry for his great sportsmanship/classiness
