When the holy goddess of cash lets loose her beautiful green wads on me, which of the following components of my compouter do you guys think I should upgrade first?
Speakers - Currently I have a set of '01 Boston Acoustics, 2.1 w/ subwoofer and a cable that is broken-ish so that the right channel drops out sometimes, and it's a bitch to jiggle the cable around until it works again
Monitor - Currently on an '01 15" Gateway EV700 (CRT) (1280x1024 max rez.)
Keyboard - My wireless one broke, so I'm currently using a $15 BestBuy "Dynex" brand one.
Mouse - '05(?)Razer Diamondback. It's nice, but I know there's better ones out there. It has 7 buttons, but Windows only lets me use 5. (other 2 can be used w/ the Razer Software)
---Below are from September '07---
Processor - Currently have the lowest end c2d (1.86 GHz)
RAM - 2GB DDR 800 w/ 2 free slots
GFx - Currently have a 7950GT factory OC'd 256 MB
MoBo - Currently have a Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3L, it's not too bad, but I'd need to eventually upgrade if I'm gonna go SLI.

It depends on how much money you have to use inorder to upgrade. I would say vid card and ram first.

there is no need for him to upgrade his ram unless he is going to run Vista 64bit.

Honestly...your monitor and "wireless" keyboard stuck out to me. If you can upgrade to a better C2D that would be fine. Your RAM and Gfx card allow you to play CS:S and TF2 GREAT but not sure about how it performs in COD4. I would definitely get a bigger monitor and upgrade the processor if possible.
The Hanns-G have cheap LCD's even though their ratios are as good as some others. And you can get an E6750 for 189.99 from newegg i believe. So, with a 19" widescreen and that processor you will be in business for under $400

I'd say ditch that monitor and get a widescreen LCD. Biggest improvement you could make right now.
