Almost, that is...

I got one today a Gibson Custom Shop SG - from a guy in Cleveland (drove to his house) which was unplayed in original packing, case candy, COA, etc..Was made in 2005 and was as he described it, new.

I had to drive past Guitar Center on the way home and decided to stop and get a set of gold strap locks for it. I took the guitar inside (afraid to leave it in my truck) and when it came out of the case all hell broke loose! Most of the employees dropped what they were doing and came over to take pix of with their cell phones and digital cameras. This went on for a good 20 minutes with some of them posing with the guitar giving the Dio salute.   I was afraid the manager was going to ask me to leave, so I spied a Marshall TSL 602 combo on the cheap and bought it for less than half price new - with a small rip in the tolex on one side. I was beginning to wonder if they were going to allow me to leave at all..lol

I can fix the rip with a little bit of spray on sticky stuff like they use for auto headliners...Good as new.

Let's see..I tell you and your frat buddies come and clean me out? Just don't take my stash!

I usually keep just one or two guitars and a single amp at home. Once I get a few they are moved to another location in the county - a secure, climate controlled storage area that doubles for a band practice space.

Heres a shot of where I spend most Saturdays standing in front of sixteen 12 inch speakers..lol Thats why I'm a bit deaf?

Thanks Ponce!

I found out that in 2005 they only made five of those green custom shop SG's...

What kinds of things can you do? Srsly if you play anything from Between the Buried and Me...you'll be leet enough for me (it's a LOT of sweeping and picking)
You have some nice setups there...i'm not much for gibson, i can't play guitar but I'm more on the metal side, like Ibanez and Schecter, if i were to be into guitar.

I saw it die, i watched it die.

I cut my teeth on 80's metal when it was new. Moved on to stuff like Slayer and Metallica in my late teens-early 20's. I finally woke up one day and realized there was no market for guys who play an "E" chord fast and scream oaths to Satan ...So I went back and got acquainted with all the old classic rock that I used to think sucked, and found that I could play in a classic cover band every weekend and make decent money. I took this (then) hot looking blond with big tits home one night after a gig, and she never left. Next thing I know we are married and two kids..No more band! Had to get a job, haircut you know the rest of the story.  I had to give it up for a few years and now have the opportunity to get back into it now that the kids are a little older.

Guitars are like women, theres one out there for everyone that appeals to you but not necessarily to me. I prefer high end stuff since I can afford it. God knows I used to have shit for gear, since I'm not getting any younger, why not go for the best?

Damn right go for the best, my prime years of skateboarding are failing and i only got another 20 in me if i'm lucky, and at the rate m skeleton moves and feels all the time, i got less.i grunt like i'm 40 when i stand up, i can't lean down and then get back up our of it, nor can i crouch and get out of it without pain...lol. Your guitar theory about it being equal to women is a good theory, and i do like it my friend.

I saw it die, i watched it die.

It may surprise you to know that one of my fave bands was Mercyful Fate. I still listen to them to this day.

First time I heard "Dont Break the Oath" we were in the city park at night tripping on acid back in 1986. I took off running for my life when the song kicked in...
