Wondering what determines how many points you get / lose for a kill / death. Do you guys throttle players in the top 20 or something? I used to be able to get more points per day before I reached the top 20 but now every kill I get is for 2 - 5 points mostly. When guys kill me the get 20. WTF is up. Anyone please.

Point are based on the skill of the killer and skill of the victim times the modifier for the gun used. We have limited the points you can get and lose. The max you can get is 20, and the max you can lose is 10. So if some fucking nub comes in with 1000 points and kills you, he is going to get 20 points and you are going to lose 10. Other than that is the max is not achieved then the victim will lose 25% of the points the killer gets. So if someone kills you and they get 16 points you will lose 4. The reason why you lose 10 when someone gets 20 is because in actuality that person with 1000 points kills a person with 20000 points, they would actually get like 60 points for the kill and the victim would lose 15. so we limit those points to 20 for the killer and 10 for the victim.
There is also a thread in the forum which explains the formula do a search on hlstatsx

Thank goodness for the point loss limitations. or else playing with low pointers really start to take a toll on the guys up top.
