Today was the day after months ive had this water cooling kit, it was finally going to be installed. I decided to go to Geek Squad, they can repair dead harddrives and all that shit. But those mother fuckers wasted my time, and tried to steal 40 bucks from me. I go in 2 times to ask how much it costs to install water cooling kits, and they said its 40 bucks.  So I assume they gave me a price, they must obviously install these thing. No I was wrong. Some anxious kid wanted to do it really bad, so he rings me up and starts workin on it. Boss catches him, and tells him about this liability bullshit. I get my comp back nothigns done, except they screwed in a radiator, and pushed the water pump into the case. SO i argued for my 40 bucks, but finally got it back because my friend worked their and convinced his boss.

Summary:

Fuck Geek Squad

haha.  i fucking tried to tell you this 2 months ago, but you wouldn't listen.  Now go do it youself.  C'mon dude it's not that hard you can do it.  Or, find out who the kid was that was going to do it, and pay him 30 to finish the job.  But, that's playing with fire...or water I should say.  Does he really know what he's doing?

You should sue them for not finishing the job and altering your machine. lol not.  j/k just follow the instructions and make sure it doesn't leak before pluggin anyting in.

yea i did do it. Everyone i talk to says, ohh i know how to install a water cooling kit, but ive never done it myself. Now i can say i installed this crap. And the bleeding was now way done like the manual said, or how the guy at geek squad said to do it. And the guy from geek squad wanted to do it for free, he said it would be fun, but he looked like a psychopath to me.

yeah geek squad doens't handle that kind of stuff.  I have installed watercooling myself.  It is a pain sometimes finding out where you wnat things mounted and stuff like that, but the end result is worth it.  If I can figure out how to upload things on here I will post a pic or 2, that is if I can upload to these forums

side note, I have been contemplating TEC cooling (Thermal Electric)  I just don't want to have a seperate cord I hvae to plug into the wall.  When I go to lan parties sometimes they only let me have 2 outlets one for comp and one for monitor.  So that and the whole problem with insulating everything is what I have a problem with.

it isn't bad,  I only recommend it with watercooling.  To add one to a waterblock you already have the T.E.C. coldplate thing is like $30 US  and the power supply is about $100 US.  If you have a huge power supply that is of good quality they say you can splice into it, but I wouldn't.  So about 130 for the parts and then you would need little things here and there for insulation.  Not too bad in my opinion.  If I did it, I would buy a waterblock that already had the TEC installed on it and it is better insulated, well at least comes with most of what you need.  Those waterblocks are generally $100us or less.

cant you go to a lan party w/ a power strip/surge protector? that would give you like 7-8 plugs, you could do wireless mouse, surround sound, charge your cell phone, 3 more monitors..the possiblities could be endless.

i'venever been to a LAN, but I'd imagine that they wouldn't allow that since they need to worry about current draw.  It's not the recepticles, but they probably only have service to have so many computers hooked up at once without blowing the circuit.

basically in the big big lan parties they provide a powerstrip with 1-3 outlets covered with duct tape and then let you plug your strip into theirs.  They are very strict about plugging more than 2 things in and I have seen a section blow a circuit before.  Then they go and kick out the guy that had more than 2 plugs plugged in.
