how does mutation occur?  Once you understand that, you will see that the mutation had to occur in the gametes of the chicken, which was unmutated, but through the mutation of its gamete cells created a genetically different chicken, thus the egg comes first.

your theory is pretty sound, but you failed to use objects in the room.... so i will give you half credit

egg being the housing of the gametes.  does not matter which sex.

and to use objects from the room, i say ... go punch yourself in the face.  That is the mutation.  the blood dripping from you face is the result of not understanding me any other way.
