It seems Karaoke hasn't worked so well for a while, because of a change in Steam. I could still do it but some people wouldn't be able to hear anything, or it'd be too loud...I think it's better to not do it then to deal with all of the hassles.

Agreed with the karaoke crazy.  Maybe there will be a fix at some point that would make it better.  We should keep looking. I am down for prop hunt tonight tho, that will be really fun. 

Would there be a way to make an announcement in the steam community? That might spark some interest in regulars that don't follow everything on the forums.

Well last night (1/16/2011) was pretty fun. We played prophunt all night instead of regular TF2, had a lot of fun doing it.
Perhaps this Fun Night doesn't have to be the same thing every time, perhaps run a different source mod next time, and I certainly wouldn't mind playing prophunt again.

Bad news is I can't force the download of the skin without replacing the entire model, and I know nothing about modeling, let alone modifying a model and then using Sourcemod to replace the model of the ball with the one I created.

Good news is you can download the files and install them locally, which will work.

Download the zip file and extract it to your C:/program files/steam/steamapps/nickname/team fortress 2/tf  folder


To edit the model, you need VTFEdit, GCFScape any any image editor that can handle TGA files.
I'm not going to go in depth, since it's done all over the internet, but simply:
Open VTFEdit
Open the TF2 Materials GCF
Find the VTF you want to edit
Extract it
Open the VTF in VTF Edit
Export as TGA
Open TGA in image editor
Make changes
Save TGA
Import TGA to VTF Edit with same properties as original VTF
Save new VTF
Done!

This video contains prop hunt (which we did), companion cube soccer, and spy crabs.  They are TF2 mods that we could try for fun night next time if someone can find the stuff for them.

Personally i would fast forward to the companion cube soccer lol but watching prop hunt is always fun.  Let me know what everyone thinks about trying the other mods on a fun night lol

There also seems to be a freeztag mod that goes along regular game play. Except when your health runs out you get frozen in place untill a medic unfreezes you.  only medics can do this.  When everyone on one team is frozen the other team wins.  Lol it sounded fun

The freeze tag and the soccer sound great. I didn't really get the point of the spy crabs one though.
