I know it hasnt been officially anounced yet, but if we get a couple more things together, we will be giving away a nice PC via raffle. I think the only thing left to find is a socket 775 Intel processor, and we are good to go. Chances should be in the area of 5-10 dollars each with 100% of the procedes going back to the clan. Several of us have donated the parts. I know the parts I will donate are less than a year old.
Partial list of specs: Intel 775 cpu (still need) Asus P5BW-LA mobo -Intel 965 chipset, 1066 fsb - onboard Realtek AC97 sound (|337) 2 Gb ram (1gb from |337 and 1 gb from Barrell) Nvidia 8600 Vid card (thanks Rage) 320 Gig sata hard drive with Windows Vista Home Premium (|337) Power supply (|337) Case (|337) We still need a sata dvd drive. The mobo has no IDE.

I wouldn't worry about if you were a member or not. Barrell posted that there are going to be about 45 people there, of that I'm sure that not more than half of them are not TE members. Hell you may even go home with a new computer.
Leet, if you guys still need parts let me know, I don't have any spare parts but I'd be willing to send some money to help cover part of the costs needed if you guys had to buy some parts.

you are more than welcome to come and bring friends just let me know ahead of time so i can make arrangements on ports and food. it cost 30 dollars a person for all three days or 15 dollars a day per person. but i will be providing the dinner for all three nights. check the other threads for hotel arrangements if you need a hotel. i listed some cheap hotels in another thread. http://theelders.net/forum/index.php?topic=5886.0 list of hotels in the area. that would be awesome but this is a lan server party and there is no internet connection. but if you ever make it back to usa you can come to the next one.
Did I read this correctly? No internet connection at all? Don't you need be online to be connected to steam and vent and all that shit?

We have servers for all that and you can run steam in offline mode.

Be sure to go under Account and UNCHECK the box that says "Don't save credentials on this computer." in steam.. otherwise offline mode won't work. I'm sure someone will have this problem.

Steam has some verification shit it puts on your computer when you log in.. if that little check box (right click on steam icon, settings, account, bottom) is CHECKED it will NOT save the credentials and therefore cannot verify your game install and will NOT go into offline mode... which means none of your registered steam games will be available.. i think it used to be checked by default.. so it's worth a look before you get there and are unable to play because steam is nazi-like.

no... video has built servers to run the games on a private lan. if you look at server screen it will say lan.. well i have not changed anything on my steam and i went and checked it out. it was not checked by default. but still anyone coming to the lan should still check it just to be on the safe side.
