I have my headset plugged in USB port, and my speakers plug into the back. How do i alternate between them without having to unplug one or the other???

What sound card do you have ? I have a SB Audigy and to use my speakers I have to unplug my headset from USB. You can go into the Sounds Card S/W depending on what you have and set it to headset or speakers probably but just pluggin in the headset and powering off the speakers  or vice versa is faster IMO
