This may be an irrelevant bunch of questions for a clan forum. I might be dumb for saying this but: I don't know where the DOD develpment site is to ask there so YOU guys are getting them to answer.? :blob:

Where are the medics?
Where are the mines?
Where's the heavy artillary, like mortars and mortar launchers, cannons??
- in the time setting of the DOD mod, both existed. So why aren't they in the game?

What if I'd create them? Where do I submit my creations and edits to the mod if I'd do such a thing? Are mods like DOD copy righted that it wouldn't be legal for me to edit and add to it without permission?

Well.  The maps are generally too small for heavy artillery, tanks, whatever.  I also started playing this game because I was getting tired of Battlefield 1942.  Just leave it alone Bort.

I actually think as much... some people just want everyting.. if it makes sence or not.
I do want to make a custom map or somesuch..but complerely mutilating the simplicit of the game wont actualyy help the playmanship of it..it would just be something to mutilate. Wahts funny is Both Bort and I have already done things like that in other games.

I see both of your points. Norman and I have talked about this in person and he said basically the same thing he (you) posted that the game is full enough, no need for medics, most maps are too small for heavy artillary, and I agree with those points. I asked because this is Half Life, in my opinion it's the best game ever created. What I miss the most in DOD vs. most of the other mods and HL itself are the proximity and land mines. It's worth opening the idea eh? If people were for it I'd work on getting them in there for us. Especiallly the mines! lol
I'll leave it alone though. The game is full enough the way it is. I agree. I'm not complaining. Just offering/suggesting and seeing what everyone else thinks.

I can maybe do this fellas. How about i kill the css deathmatch server and put up another DOD server with the mods you are talking about bort. I have not done anything to the dod mod so will have no idea how to get it done. If you really want to do this up, I say we make your ass a part of the clan and I will get you ftp access to the folder you need and you can go to town on it.

What do you guys think???

That's totally up to the clan. I'm just suggesting and making my thoughts vocal. I'd like to see land mines at least. Ok...most maps are too small for heavy artillary, very true! Mines though, to me, that would be more fun, more kills, more laughs!

No heavy artillary. Ok. But think about these idea's and how fun they'd be.
Land mines (Explosives Expert class- dig hole with spade, plant mine)
Mortar launchers (placed on maps - either side can use, aim, and destroy)
Poison Gas Grenades (used by all)

I guess I'm a moder? That is where I got my start. I started with a game called battlezone. I made ships and weapons people that were playing the game 10 years never thought were possible. I'm pretty confident I can do it to Half Life as long as I have people behind me agreeing to let me at it. Just little additions. Nothing major. Right, the game is interesting the way it is. I do agree with that! But I like to break things too.

I wouldnt kill a server to cause unusual Mods.. Unless of course we actually have the Mods in pllace and working.. as far as being "considered" part of the clan.. well.. why not??

Yeah. No need to kill an active server. Norman has a server (LAN based) I'm sure he'll allow me to use, aside from helping with these ideas, we can run it on to test all the stuff and make sure it works and all that. As long as we get all the files we need to work on it.
