does anyone know how to jump start a car, but the thing is, another car cant get close enough from the front, and the cables arent long enough to go from behind, is there any other possible way to jump start the car? The battery is like 4 months old, and i left the lights on by accident, but of course my car doesnt have a buzzer to tell me i left it on.

You only need a length of cable long enough to hit the HOT or + cable post on the battery. Negative or Black goe to a dead spot anyway. If you can Pigtail a Hot lead to the battery you are good to go aslong as you dead the black to solid metal somewhere.  You can even take a fresh battery out of a vehicle (as long as the CCAs are good if its cold) and jump it off that alone.

Remember:
Dead vehicle only gets a Hot (red/+) cable whilst the charging unit gets both. Ground the dead unit and it should kick.

it's not a vw is it?  keep in mind that some newer cars (like my vw) have a anti theft feature that if you try to jump (or even charge) the battery without the key in the ignition and turned to the on position, the car will never start until you do two of one things.  Tow it to the dealer and have the computer reset, or let it sit in the parking lot for min. 24 hrs.  I learned this the hard way.  The car will turn over three times and die in vw's.

ROFL. cant be as bad as the BMW X5 when i worked at teh Beemer dealership you need to jump the X5 with a Jump Pack and a car ( Jump pack in the back terminals and car under the hood terminals)  that way if your battery is dead in the K-Mart parking lot you need to call the tow truck. GO BMW!
