Sound card suggestions?

I'm tired of fighting with my onboard sound card, and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions of a card to buy to replace it.
I don't really care what it has, but it NEEDS the following:
PCI Interface
S/PDIF Out connector
Not extremely expensive
Let me know if you have any recommendations

I think I just have the humble soundblaster audigy ($30) which has been pretty decent. I have it hooked up to Logitech z-5500 and the setup is very good for games as well as music.
My philosophy is that if you are using SPDIF, any device will do since all the magic happens at the decoding end (receiver/amp) since sound card (or source like dvd player) is just sending along digital sound w/o processing it. If you are using the sound card's decoders then it pays to have nice ones.
