I'm guessing you are gonna do that hair dryer trick. Haven't tried it myself cause I haven't had any issues but if you get it working then thats awesome. As for modding it goes, its nice because you can backup game discs and they boot once it has the hacked firmware loaded on the drive. Its fairly easy to do. Heres a link to to a VERY nice tutorial.

They ahve started banning now for it and the cat and mouse game has begun. Depending on the drive you have there is a new firmware called ixtreme 1.0 or 1.1 and it mimicks completely the drive speed and has all stealth on the discs and you can play live from a burnt disc.
