Damn Canadians - lol j/k! Seriously though, Memorial day is the day we celebrate remembering all the loved ones who have passed before us, especially our service men and women who have died so that we may live in a free country.  Also, it is the unofficial start of summer, so lots of grill outs, pools opening, and general drunken parties - lol!   :-D

We have something like that in November. Rememberance day. You guys just picked it a few years agao and called it "Vetrens Day". We had a long weekend last week called "Victoria Day", it's to celebrate the Queen's B-Day.

Actually President Wilson made it a special day after WWI, in the year 1919.  It didn't become a national holiday validated by the Senate until 1938 though.  So, it's been around a while...
