I was looking for drivers for my old 6600 GT for my brother, when I saw an ad on the nVidia site for this new video converter that uses the GPU to convert videos!
Not only does it convert faster than your CPU could (according to them. I'm about to test it), but it leaves your CPU alone, so you can do other things on your computer while converting without sacrificing conversion speed.
Try it out!

Test 1701 MB movie, 1:41:26
640x480 (VGA), 1000 kB/s video, 128 kB/s audio
Processor: Core2Duo T7250 @ 2.00 GHz
GPU: GeForce 8600M GT
GPU conversion w/ Badaboom: 50 minutes
CPU conversion w/ Videora iPod converter: 2 hours
Badaboom is
58% faster!Test 2Same movie
320x240 (QVGA), 768 kB/s video, 128 kB/s audio
Same hardware
GPU conversion w/ Badaboom:
20 minutes!CPU conversion w/ Videora iPod converter: 45 minutes
Badaboom is
56% faster!Test 3232 MB TV show, 0:28:31
320x240 (QVGA), 768 kB/s video, 128 kB/s audio
Same hardware
GPU conversion w/ Badaboom:
15 minutes! CPU conversion w/ Videora iPod converter: 20 minutes
Badaboom is
25% faster! So, longer videos convert much faster, and all videos convert at an average of 46% faster than my CPU....
