Ok, so i have been away for a couple of days and been working so i haven't really gotten a chance to play counterstike.  So after being a way for about 5 days I come back today and turn on my computer and start up steam.  Everything is fine, but when i go to play counterstike it says the "game is not avalible at the time" and then a Norton anti virus message pop's up and says that i have Virus on my computer.  It says its under C:/Docume~1/John/LOC.../~383.tmp .

I ran a virus scan and nothing came up.  What the fuck is going on here?  what could it be?  I tried re-starting steam but the shit doesn't go away.  I do have custom models on my css, but it has been fine for a while.  Why the sudden change?  And this only happens when i try to acces CSS.  I haven't tried another game, but what do u guys think it could be?  Thanks for any help.

This scares me. I just got a new quad core box this evening, setting it up now. I'm worried if I install steam could I have this issue also?

New box:
Core 2 quad @2.4Ghz
4gb ram
2x 300gb Hd
Vista
Some shitty nvidia vidcard (I'm replacing it asap w an 8800)

I tried getting rid of the Clientregistry.blog and even making sure nothing was set to read only.  But it still doesn't work.  I tried running DOD and the same thing happened.  Its a fucking trojan warning but it says its been taken care of and shit.  What can I do?

I could not find it.  But i did some reading and it looks like Norton was updated and sees steam as a virus.  There is no real Trojan just norton thinks there is.  Just have to dissable norton.  What a pain in the ass.  And i think i deleted some folders to get back to defaults... ASIFAIOSFJ

You need to go into Norton and then Options and into Program Control. You'll need to add Steam in as an allowed  application. You may see it iin there already but that would be the old exe. Remove it from the allowed list and add it right back in. If it see it as a worm then you'd do the same thing basically for worm protection in Norton.

Honestly, Norton is a bloated program that can easily and safely be replaced with a freeware anti-virus such as AVG or Avast. Either of these will do the job as well or better, and do not require payment once every year or 2.

Perhaps?

I get the game is not available once a day.  I just close out of Steam and then start it back up and it is good to go.  It is almost like it loses sync or something.
