Title: CS: Global Offensive
Post by: V.I.P. on October 24, 2011, 08:54:30 PM
I know it's been known for a while, but I'm going to post it here.  It looks like the final product will be an upgrade from source.  New skins, textures, a few new maps, and more gun balance.  I'm really excited about the gun balance and I'm sure the rest of you are too (especially GG players).
Here's a link to the trailer http://store.steampowered.com/app/1800/

And that GunGame will be built into GO as "Arsenal Mode". I'm excited. I've been playing CS:S again recently and it really feels stale.

As long as the cost for it is good I'll be picking this one up. I wonder if they'll have hard copies of it?

Of course they will - they always do.

I'm sure the price will be great. Valve has never been trouble in that area. They still haven't announced any kind of pricing yet, so for all we know, as I keep saying, it may still be a free update to CS:S. :P

Well considering their most recent release, Portal 2, came out in a physical copy...

I think GO is going to be cross platform...so I'd say hard copies also.

Found several articles from the press release a while back including this one,

"Global Offensive is targeted for release in early 2012, and will be available for Microsoft Windows, Mac OS X, Xbox 360 via the Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation 3 via PlayStation Network. It will contain classic content, such as old maps, as well as brand new maps, characters and game modes. Also, it will support matchmaking and leaderboards.[3] Cross-platform multiplayer is confirmed between Microsoft Windows, Mac OS X and PlayStation 3 players.[4] The PlayStation 3 version will offer three control methods, which include using either the DualShock 3 controller, PlayStation Move or USB keyboard/mouse."

so NO Hard copies, all download.

Well, no hard copies for console, but I wouldn't rule out PC hard copies.

With it being steam distributed, to me it seems less likely for PC to have hard copies if consoles don't have hard copies.  But oh well, not like it really matters.  Can't wait to download it.

I don't like not having hard copies. :(

Looks like they missed the mark on "early 20120" huh?  Just beat Diablo 3 and now I'm wanting CS:GO to come out damnit!  (PS:  D3 is amazinggg!!)

I know, I have a feeling CS Go may be a huge let down. I'm killing it in Battlefield 3 though, already up to rank 45. For now I settle on battling Widow in bejeweled on FB.

Well, they've got some time til 20120. :P

But seriously, when did they say early 2010? The game didn't begin development until March 2010, and wasn't announced until August.

It was supposed to be early 2012 but got pushed back with no time frame now.
Looks like another Duke Nukem release.

Yeah I totally picked up that you meant 2012, but I was tired. :P I thought it was always slated for Summer 2012? And it's not another DNF! It's in active development with updates to the beta nearly ever week. This week they finally made it so you can play up to 15v15, instead of just 5v5.

Not that high of a rank cause I started late, but I play nearly every night of the week.

That can be such an addicting game.

I'm glad to see the forum is still up...I tried checking a while back and it must have been temporarily down...

I hope all you guys have a happy/safe/exciting 4th of July.
