IRC (Internet Relay Chat) is used for a lot of things one of its primary features is for finding scrims and also for finding out information about clans. Our channel had been messed up so I took it upon myself to fix it. The first thing you will need to do is register with gamesurge this so when you join it it will give you the correct admin privileges. This done through the web page below.

Then once you have gone and registered you can go through and download Mirc. That is the program that runs IRC it is the moste widely used and well known. Once you download it it will be easy enough to setup following my instructions. It can be downloaded from the following page.

From there run the installer.

Make sure to select the proper install path if you installed specially

Once Installed start it up it will look as if you have to register it but you do not. It may even pop up a window saying to register just ignore it. Just hit continue

Fill out the information for this. The alt nick is used in case someone in the channel already has ur name or you lagged back and came back quickly before the server realized you lagged out.

once you filled out the information hit connect. Then you will be taken to a join channel box

put in #theelders and hit connect. Then go to favorites up top and add to favorites.

Click join on connect. then click ok

Click on the heart then under it uncheck the first check box so it doesnt pop up every time you go into mirc.

Go to file -> select server. then go to options then perform

Enable perform on connect. Then click add and go down to gamesurge and hit ok.

add /authserv AUTH username password. this is also shown at http://www.gamesurge.net/newuser/ (http://www.gamesurge.net/newuser/). Then hit ok
