alright i need help with my internet fellas, give me ever available peice of feedback possible
ok i just bought my new computer, i received it friday and have everything installed on it i just need a lil help with my internet.
ok i need to know how to run my internet from my modem to my moms computer to mine.
i have installed a d-link dfe-530tx+ on my moms computer, and my computer has a lan connection built in. now i hook my internet up regularly and then ran a cat 5 from my moms LAN card to mine(this does not work). what do i need to buy for this to work
my cable modem is a toshiba pcx2200
plz help

I think you need a router dude. Run the incoming line to the modem and the modem to a router and then wire each computer to the router.

using a Cat5e cable then u run the Cat5 to your ethernet card and boom ur done

MAKE SURE YOU ROUTER HAS AT LEAST 4 PORTS
1. hook up cable modem to WAN of router with RJ-45 wire.
2. hook up RJ-45 wire from lan ports of router to both computers.
3. Sometimes you may need to reset cable modem to alow the change of mac address.

MAKE SURE YOU ROUTER HAS AT LEAST 4 PORTS
1. hook up cable modem to WAN of router with Cat5 wire.
2. hook up Cat5 wire from lan ports of router to both computers.
3. Sometimes you may need to reset cable modem to alow the change of mac address.
4. It may go mess up every once in a while which u will need to unplug it and plug it back in.
5. Get A Dlink Router
