So karaoke works, so we can use it on Fun Night (or when someone's drunk :P).
Go ahead and post any songs you'd like to see on it!
All I need is the song name, but if you could give me
-a link to the mp3 (http://g2p.org)
-a link to an LRC file
that'd help a lot!
LRC files are files that contain the lyrics, as well as timestamps. You can tell you have the right file cause all the lines will start with things like [02:41]
Search google for "Songname LRC" and if it has a readily available one, you should see it near the top. Again, if you don't find one, don't worry. Just post the song name!

Oh yeah, I had a really fun time with karaoke, but I do think it should be only on the Sunday fun night.
Also, the server name should say something like "Karaoke Night" in the title. So somebody surfing servers will know that there will be music and mic spam, but that it's a planned event and isn't like this all the time.
Really, I have and still will instantly blacklist servers playing loud music with people yelling all the time. And I don't want people to be turned off by the server because of this.
It's all really really fun and I definitely want to do it again, but I do think it should be properly labeled.
In fact, heck, that's advertising. "Fun night? karaoke? looks like they're doing something special, I'll join!"

I say Crazy gets this up and running for us as soon as he is able and we can do it for fun night and see how it goes over. Maybe put one of them polls up in the game and ask everyone how they like the Karaoke? :dontknow: See what kind of response we get, then maybe we can throw it on at random for an hr here and there through the week.

Is this an in game thing? If so how does it work, exactly? Do we get the lyrics?

Crazy - Whatever you think would be good. Maybe 30 min would be better. Idk how it works exactly. Maybe we can pick like 5 songs to do and stretch it out over an hour? Or just do a 30 minute block? :dontknow: idk. Up to you.
GFH - We hear the music, and the lyrics come up on the screen. You use in game chat to sing. And you get to hear everyone. It really is pretty cool. Remember we discussed doing something like this for the virtual lan? This would be what we talked about. I really think you should jump in one night when we have it going and check it out. I think you will like it.

Also the plugin wasn't really working perfectly, the title was flashing up during the lyrics and you couldn't really read the lyrics. Also the "Don't camp the spawns" message was interfering with it.

That was probably due to a bad LRC file, or me reloading the plugin multiple times. Best practice is to change the map to update the song list.

When I go to Buffalo Wild Wings ( every friday and saturday haha ) We always play the same songs on the juke box and everyone always loves it. I'll list them for you guys if you're interested in adding them. And, maybe I'll join in to see how it goes on night.

absolutely, I accept and still will instantly banish servers arena loud music with humans babble all the time. And I don't wish humans to be angry off by the server because of this.
It's all absolutely absolutely fun and I absolutely wish to do it afresh, but I do anticipate it should be appropriately labeled.
