Minigames?
-
I'll support your thread instead of taso's :-P
Yeah, I wonder what the mini-games are? And I thought they were planning to release a 6th polycount pack that didn't win the contest. (was hoping for medic items)
Also, does the scout's milk replace scattergun? It looks that way, otherwise the set bonus wouldn't work.

I am officially against micropaymen for Tf2 items.

Agreed. But at least you can still get them through drops.

Oh my god.
LOOK AT THE PRICES FOR THESE THINGS.
MAY I REMIND YOU THE GAME ITSELF COSTS $20 ($10 NOW WHILE ON SALE).
What kind of idiots would pay $17.50 for these things? The answer? Any kind of idiot! Valve is going to make a SHIT TON of money off of these things, and it's all because people are stupid.
Wow. just wow.
Also, remember that EVERY ITEM can be found from random drops!

Kind of late to the party here but there is going to be a dueling minigame, where you get an item that lets you challenge an opponent to a duel. If you win, you get a point. Every 10 points gets you a level, every 25 levels gets you a badge. It's the the catalog.

I bought the bundle, I view it as contributing to the continued development of my favorite game.

I think Valve is brilliant. Judging by the number of people in the TE server alone, they've paid salaries for a month or two from this. Everyone wins... Valve gets money for a game they've been supporting for free all this time and the community is happy that they spent money on ... hats. Those who don't want to spend a dime don't have to.
-
I am undecided about these changes. I am not a fan of micropayment as a rule, but I understand this is (sadly,) the future of gaming. As a business move, this was genius. Valve will milk a shit ton of money from its rabid fan base. But as it contains significant gameplay changes, I am not necessarily happy about it.
I know you can have it all through random drops. Which is cool, to balance it out a bit, but its still annoying. Also, I easily have over a thousand hours logged in this game and I have found exactly 0 hats from random drops.

I think that the 17.50 for a hat is a little nuts, but the micotransactions are ok. I mean, we've been playing this game and getting consistent updates for 3 years, which is far more than anyone else supports games these days. It's optional, and valve certainly deserves the money.

Apparently it's not just Valve raking in the money from this...

I say again: Brilliant. They just made HUGE money off a 3-year old game. And those who didn't want to spend a penny... didn't.
