They changed the dates because some people complained that they weren't getting what they expected. A lot of people, in fact. They added a new badge.

Jesus christ! How do you have that many hours?! You must idle alot. :P
-
She's spent many hours "playing with herself".
-
lol, no, I do not idol. GFH can vouch for the fact that I spent a lot of time in the server just learning how to play when I first got the game. Just me and him, and a few straglers here and there. That is how I built up my friends list as well. And yes, a few hrs playing with myself. lol :-D
-
October 14, 2007, grizzled veteran, woot!!
-
Jeez Smurfette, that's like 9 WEEKS of your life. Two months and a week of straight non-stop TF2. I got the game on pre-order and only have 400 hours total.
I think you may be a robot.

My hire date was sept 18 as well, and as to the last question, i played the original team fortress for quake in 96, 97 on my old school pentium200 with mmx, I am as OG as it gets verm :)

You all can just stop, I have you all beat.
I was playing Hexen II, modem to modem, turning bitches into chickens on 2400 baud when the internet was still all text. :flamed:
-
hitman, not that I don't appreciate references to the good 'ol days, but i feel like Hexen II vs. 2400 baud modems/text interwebs were two different eras... wasn't hexen II in like, '97? by then 56k was pretty standard, AOL had pics a plenty, and 2400 baud on a FPS like hexen II would be unplayable i'm thinking...
either way, men after my own <3. now i have man crushes, great. or maybe, its a bromance?
Doom + 75Mhz Pentium + 8MB RAM + 14.4k modem = BEST MULTIPLAYER EVAR!!~!
-
I did a little digging and find my original Quake1 clan page.. still up on reocities.. lol.
http://www.reocities.com/TimesSquare/Realm/2152/home.htm
my gamer tag back then was TaNkabboT
we played on old school heat.net mplayer.com and later quakeworld

First online FPS I ever got into was UT then TFC. I played games previous to that, but I was really into strategy and RTS.

Since we're digging out the classics, I can't help but bring up Subspace. I know it's not FPS, but it was MMP, and it holds the top spot (in *my* heart) for multiplayer games played over an analog modem.

Now that I'm thinking about it...it was a top down version of TF2. Anyone that remembers it, feel free to add to the list. It had:
different classes (ships)
stickies (mines)
air blasts (repel)
rockets (rockets)
guns (duh)
spies (cloaks/decoy)
teleporters (portals)
I wonder if anyone at valve realizes that they copied the game design and wrapped it in 3D implementation?
