I already bought it and have Home Premium installed, 64 bit of course.  I love it so far, try opening up task manager and when you see about 10 processes it makes it feel more efficient.  I've not had a single program freeze up yet and I like the UI too.  Good things so far...

If you don't have a 64-bit processor, apparently there's issues with installing the student version.

So, do they mail you an install CD or do you have to download the OS?

Reason I ask is that have a buddy in school so could get him to buy it for me but needs to be transferable to me in person...

Well can you hook me up with another copy?  I just bought a 500gb hd from Crazydog and I need an OS to put on it for a movie/song storage comp =)

This is why I'm against buying an OS...$300 for everyone except if your in school you get it for $30 (which is what it's really worth)

I don't know, if I had known how good it was I would have been willing to shell out at least $200 for it. It's a major MAJOR upgrade over XP, which is what I was using before this.

Sorry VIP, I only get one license. I have to remember the site, I'll try thinking of it, but there's a MS run site where you can get it cheap. It's for students of course, but I doubt it'd be too hard to fake that.
