I already bought it and have Home Premium installed, 64 bit of course. I love it so far, try opening up task manager and when you see about 10 processes it makes it feel more efficient. I've not had a single program freeze up yet and I like the UI too. Good things so far...
-
If you don't have a 64-bit processor, apparently there's issues with installing the student version.

who doesn't have 64 bit processors by now?
-
Plenty of people. :P

Wish I had a dot edu e-mail so I could get it on the cheap :crybaby:
-
So, do they mail you an install CD or do you have to download the OS?
Reason I ask is that have a buddy in school so could get him to buy it for me but needs to be transferable to me in person...
-
It's a download.
-
For an extra 13$ they will mail you a CD.
-
Ha, suckers! I'm in the CIT program at my school, I got it free months ago.
/gloating

Well can you hook me up with another copy? I just bought a 500gb hd from Crazydog and I need an OS to put on it for a movie/song storage comp =)
-
This is why I'm against buying an OS...$300 for everyone except if your in school you get it for $30 (which is what it's really worth)
-
Get Linux!
-
I don't know, if I had known how good it was I would have been willing to shell out at least $200 for it. It's a major MAJOR upgrade over XP, which is what I was using before this.
Sorry VIP, I only get one license. I have to remember the site, I'll try thinking of it, but there's a MS run site where you can get it cheap. It's for students of course, but I doubt it'd be too hard to fake that.

I've already got one of the student versions...I want another for my laptop and extra comp XD I'm greedy
