Ok, at the October mtg we discussed some stuff that has been put on hold due to a snag in the planning.  The snag has been delt with, so now we need to look at some of the communities suggestions and see what we can do.  We have these mtgs to encourage the community and regulars to express what they want to see.  There was mention of the cabinets being disabled in the pre round mayhem.  Also of putting some larger maps into the rotation.  I think we need to get some discussion going on this and get things moving.  Anyone have any suggestions to larger maps to try.  We need to get some ideas together and then we will put up a poll and take the most popular.

I would like to see some CTF maps. It does get a little boring only having CP and Payload maps.

I personally would like to see a regular rotation as opposed to the "vote for every map" system...thats just me. I think admins can handle a map vote or change.

Yeah a regular rotation might be nice as opposed to vote every map thing, if we get stuck that's why there is RTV and votemap for yes? Also I would like to see some CTF in rotation, mebe arena wouldn't know since I haven't played an arena yet :D Also I'd say drop pre-round mayhem to 30 seconds a min is a bit much imo.

I agree to dropping pre round mayhem to 30 sec.  I think a minute is to much as well.  Honestly, I will wait a bit to join because I don't like the length of the mayhem.  As much as I hate to say it, maybe we could consider bringing back turbine for ctf.  I can only handle so much of it, but it has been a while since I have played, so I would enjoy seeing it again.

I also would not mind having Turbine and pl_tower in the rotation. And i agree with Smurfette to dropping the pre-round mayhem to 30-45 seconds.

Turbine is a server killer!
I love the one minute mayhem! The reason it's a little out of control right now is partly because the med cabinet.

I too love one minute mayhem. Never get tired of it. Turbine, I think would be a bad idea. Though putting some CTF on the server would be nice, if it has a time limit and sudden death. CTF can go on forever if teams are matched evenly.

Map is on the server, but will need to be selected or voted on. Not in the rotation yet.

I just went and played cranetop, fantastic map. Hard to believe its a custom. Gonna take some time to get to know all the ins and outs, specially with all the rooftops. That should be in the bloody rotation.

HA! That's where I have the edge! I've played this map many times before! Pretty straight forward man. Two stages, but both are REALLY long! Thanks Widow for getting it in there. Now I know why it wasn't put on earlier. :booty:
The problem most people have with ctf maps is that they turn out a lot like hydro, stalemates. I don't see the problem with tring a few. Suggestions? I'd rather see ctf_well over any others.
As for the mayhem, I've heard many times from many people that frequent our servers: "IT's the best things about this server". I've also heard the same about the map choosing. People like being in control of where to play next.

These few posts are the first negative comment's I have ever heard about the pre-round 1 minute mayhem.  Everytime it goes on, people love it and comment on how much they love it.

I personally think the problem is that I own all of you when it happens.   :thebirdman:

I kinda feel like even if one or a few of you are not that into the mayhem anymore that that shouldn't take precedent over the fact that the people who come to play on the server, love it. There have been times when I was chatting, or alt-tabbing to do something else, or just didn't feel like participating, that I will just stand there and let myself get blow'd up for that time. It's not like it counts against you to do that. And there's other times when I really enjoy it. But, for people coming onto the server, it's a draw factor, and that shouldn't be ignored.

Once the med cabinet issue is fixed the mayhem will be fine I think. Cranetop is an awesome map, glad to see it on the server. Turbine is to small for 32 people so it won't really work, and while Well is more open the second and last points are quite small; again, this map is to small for 32 people.

I agree that it goes over very well and seems to be liked by mos.  I'm saying I don't like it, I just don't think it needs to be 60 sec.  Maybe keep it but reduce to 45 sec or 30 sec.  We can always pout up a poll - which I am going to do now...

I would really love to see some more custom maps since I think they are really fun. There was one map I had in mind not sure what it is called so i'll find it out later but pretty much it's a giant basketball court in space and people can go under this one thing and it sling shots them across the map it is a CTF map but it is also very fun. If we do happen to get some custom maps onto the server I can probably pull some of my real life friends onto our server since most of them play on servers that are only custom maps.

I agree, standard rotation is starting to get a bit boring so let's add a couple of new maps.  I think the toy factory map (don't know official name) was pretty fun.

Suggestions anyone?

Sawmill has a CTF version. Maybe we could switch out the king of the hill version for the CTF? I remember playing it a few times and it's pretty bearable.

I still think stf_well is the better ctf map. A vote for a ctf map should go up.

I played the ctf_sawmill the other night, it was ok, but It didn't really work for me. I quite like ctf_well though.

How about having Dustbowl coming after Goldrush or vice versa just becuase it helps keep the server up.

Having popular maps going back to back seems like a pretty good idea to me.

What do you guys think?

Really really Badlands people don't seem to mind. Granary on the other hand gets voted out every time. We need RTV back.

I might have to reinstall the RTV plugin, IDK. It's there so IDK why it's not working. Besides, we've gotten a little lazy in our admin in regard to maps I think, just put up a vote.

No, we are not crazy in using our admin.  In game, you get 8-10 ppl who type rtv and it is not working, so they complain.  So we ask what ppl want to see it changed to, and we try to acomidate that.  Get rtv fixed and we can spend more time playing and less time screwing with our admin.   :-D

All I'm saying is, right now, I feel like I spend more time playing admin than I do playing the game.  I just think it is much easier if we have RTV set up and ppl can speak for themselves.  Idk about the rest of the admin, but I know I would rather play than sit and read ppl complaining, ask what map they want, compile the map vote, put it up and see what happens.  It is seriously frustrating.   :headbang:

RTV only works if no admins are in the server. If you want it to work all the time then all you need to do is change the damn cvar.

My god I hate knowing everything!!!!

If you want it changed let me know. It is that way for a purpose. So we can play the game and not have retards typing RTV every 5 seconds while playing.
