I am really interested in mapping. I can use hammer on my brothers steam account, but thats only for CS:S maps. I was really curious about any programs that would allow me to map for CS 1.6. I think it would be pretty fun to make a map, and I think I would be pretty decent at it (dont worry Windex, I'm not trying to steal your thunder). If anyone could point me in the direction of mapping software that would be great. It would be even better if that person was willing to help me out. It would also be nice to not have to pay for mapping software, if thats an option.

did anyone read this post?

I read it and know nothing about mapping. :\

Just use Valve's Hammer Editor.. there are tutorials all over the place.. If I log onto my other computer I'll try and paste a link to a good tutorial that I used when I first started mapping.

Just go to the valve website.. they have it there for download. They probably have tutorials there as well.
