sucks....thats why you should stick to computer games
-
What makes you think Microsoft's hardware is any better than it's software? LOL
-
I have had 2 360's and neither one has ever had any trouble at all. The only reason I got rid of the first one was to get an Elite. I gave the first one to one of my friends and he has had no issues either.
-
I had a 20GB HD and my elite, the 20GB one had the RROD...I will always be skeptical of an older Xbox 360. I feel pretty confident that my RE Elite won't have any problems.
-
They fixed the heating issue with the newer 360s. No more electrolisis that cause the 3 red lights. Rally got one red light. So it can't be the problem that the older ones had.
-
This is just another thing to point out why I like my PS3 better than the 360.

:iamwithstupid: This.

E74 error is covered under the xbox 3 year warranty extension.... happened to mine last may, called microsoft, they sent a box and fixed it, no cost. did take 4-5 weeks though
-
Ouch...$500'll buy you a lot of PC...and since you put it together yourself, repairs are generally cheaper, and quicker than 4-5 weeks.
Good Luck!

I had one of the first run 360s, it died after about 6 months. I never replaced it, I'd rather upgrade my system, I like the games better anyways.
-
my very first 360 got the ROD but thats when ebgames still did the console protection for 360 (discontinued for 360 but they still do it for ps3) decided i liked the fatigue green halo 3 bought that and sold one to someone for a xmas gift for their GF but that got the ROD maybe 6 months later....this Halo 3 one lasted a little over a year lol
-
That's ridiculous, I don't see why people keep buying a product that is known for failing, does it consistently, and the company that makes it has done very little to stop it from happening. Any other system would have died out for the same issues, it blows my mind that this hasn't hurt Microsoft enough for them to fix the issue.
-
yea im glad i traded in my 360 for ps3....far more superior
-
I have both lol i replaced it the first time cause it was all i had (didn't even have a gaming pc), got the Halo 3 one (still before i built my new PC) then i built my PC used it more and knowing
that the 360 had issues tried not to play it for more than 2 hrs max....
but while we're on the topic im starting to have a HUGE issue with console gaming...why wont anyone have full backwards compatibility? there are a few games i want to play on playsation and cant unless i pay again to download it, and on the 360 where if it wasn't a major release you can't play it....now Sony has the PSP GO yes its over priced was checking it out, like the smaller size, slides out, 16gb built in memory....but no UMD??? so any game from the first PSP cant be played on the GO unless you download it on the PC or PS network...its sad

Did you look here.

I just fixed a 360 with the 3 ring of death. Wasn't that hard.
Hope things work out

Llamma is local here for me. Good place

Sony says that backwards compatibility is not what customers want. I personally disagree.

Interesting site, but i shipped it out already,
From the like you gave:
E74: AV cable error... There is a problem with the AV cable, try using a different AV cable. If the cable is known to be working then there is a 90% chance it's a scaler chip problem (the "ANA" or "HANA" chip connected directly to the AV cable) in rare cases it is the GPU.

Then they obviously don't know there customers. I bought an "original" PS3 because I knew they'd eventually take out all the good stuff...which they eventually did.

Why I love my 360
1. Halo
2. Ace Combat :downtown: (one of the greatest games ever) sorry no ps3 release
3. Forza 2, and 3 will be out before PS3 gets it's grand tourismo
4. Battlefield Bad Company
What is bad about the 360 and what most owners eventually have to deal with, is that as of last month the Xbox 360 was at a 54% failure rate. I am on my 3rd box. One was replaced by Best Buy in about 5 minutes...no hassle at all, which seems wierd compared to the horror stories I've heard. And the other was sent for repair but took about 4 weeks to get back to me. I am at a 33% sucess rate with this console which is freaking retardation.
