Title: For Sale: EVGA PCI-E GeForce GTX 280 Video Card
Post by: Video_Master on July 14, 2009, 04:19:07 PM
Asking $200 o.b.o.

Specs are listed in the picture below.  This card was used for about 6 weeks and then I decided to not run SLI anymore.  This is a great card and allows for great gameplay at 1680x1050 resolution which is what I was running at.

Full Model # is 01G-P3-1280-AR

This is my second one of these.  I am still running my other one.  Just no need for SLI since there is not much improvement.

It will eat it for breakfast...the gtx is a completely new technology so it's hard to compare them.  It really depends on the games you're playing.  If you play TF2 and CS then the 8800gt is perfectly fine for you.  The gtx card is really a top of the line card used for BRAND NEW games that are demanding...

Actually, I ran Crysis on full everything with my old 8800 GT with around 70fps...maybe it was my rig or my awesome set-up who knows LOL the GTX is a bit of overkill with current video technology but it is quite sweet.

With the right hardware and tweaking it can be done...has been done...and I think there's only one Crysis.

There is a new Crysis: Warhead...i guess it's an expansion.  The original crysis had terrible coding/scripting and that's the main reason the fps is so bad.  I really don't know how you got that fps on an 8800gt.

Probably a combination of things. Might have a lot to do with XP 64-bit. The 8800 was superclocked, but that was probably only a very small part of it. I have super quick 4-4-4-15 RAM on 2.1v and I cut everything non essential in the OS and turn on only necessary process' and services, so it's probably a combination of all that...Wonder what FPS I would get with my new card....hmmm.
