Title: Heyas from Canada's best frenchies!
Post by: TimeSlayer on June 24, 2009, 08:04:24 PM
Just dropped in your forums to say hi =)

I was wondering if you guys participate in any competition for TF2 --- or CoD5 for that matter? (TGL, TWL, CAL, CEVO or any others lol)

I may be interrested in joining you guys if you do. =P

I used to run the CAL team but we haven't had one lately (and CAL is dead). I would like to play competitive TF2 again but we would need enough dedicated people to do it. It may be a possibility in the future with the right people. Glad to see you on the forums  :blob:

Its very hard to play TF2 competitively when you need at least 10 people on the team to even play a 6v6 leage.

If we get enough interest we can throw together another team.

Will do...it's far off in the fututre and if I do decide to put the team together again it will be a lot more serious...no screwing around  :-D

Don't worry. If a team can be formed I will take this seriously but not to the point where we can't have some fun too.

I'd have to have a minimum of 8 interested players...thats minimum.

Can you please tell me what classes are typically used in these more serious games?  I would love to be a part of this, but I don't think big fat Russians are welcome.  :dontknow:

Big fat Russians are, indeed, not allowed sir.  :-D

Most competitive teams consist of a combo (soldier+medic), one roaming soldier, two scouts and a demo in a typical 6v6.

Yep, Hitman is right, unfortunatly =P

These are like my worst classes, apart demo and maybe medic.  Scout and soldier I'm not very good at killing stuff =(

Hitman, I am in.  I think we have had more than 8-10 people say they would play.  Lets get a team together and schedule some practices and stuff.

As soon as we have a couple scouts we'll be able to get right on it. That's all we're waiting on.

Why aren't fatties allowed? Isn't that sizist?
I'm down for tournament play, I just need a heads up as far as times for play.

Heavies are allowed but haven't been used much becuse of their speed. We're in the begining stages of getting it going (we had one before in CAL but that league no longer exists) but we'll keep you posted.

I can see the argument for speed, but I'd also say their ability to do damage more than makes up for it. I know if I've got a good medic backing me up I can hold off alot of people for a while

Demos, Scoutsand Soldiers tear down the Heavy in competitive play. They're very situtional and almost never used, especially by experienced teams.

yep, always gotta play the same class so you know how to own people of any class in any situation in any map.
