Title: Completed the entertainment cabinet
Post by: GeoDragon30 on February 12, 2009, 05:35:41 PM
The Final Project. Decided not to add shelves do to lack of components. Could be added later if I decide to. I will accept in criticism since this was my first time building any furniture type stuff.

I think the TV should be about another 12 inches higher.  It also looks like you have enough components to but the other shelf in and then put the couple items on the new shelf.  Other then that it is a great good.

the TV sits low cause our couch is really low to. i do think there is probably room to put a shelf above the TV though.

You can. Just remember this is only my first time. I haven't even a 1% of making anything look professionally done.

Here is a pic with the added shelf.

Man,

That thing looks pretty good.  Maybe you could at a couple of doors and it would be easy to hide...that would be nice.

I don't think I could add doors cause of the trim I added around it. There is probably a good way to do it, but I am a rookie at this. I like the idea though.

Geo, you've really made a good piece here. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise! I was only joking about showing you up. I wouldn't do that.....well not unless someone asked me too. :-D

very well done!  looks good, did you work from a basic idea and maybe the dimensions of your toys?  or did you work off some kinda blueprint?

i just build my dad a custom workbench for his basement... had to base it off blueprints and what I thought the dimensions should be.  came out pretty good.

I was playing around with CAD during lunch at work and then it turned into that. I only changed a few things based on my toys. I guess I probably should have made it taller than 6" off the ground though. outside of that it works perfectly with my low couch and low coffee table. Thanks GFH.......and he show me up anyways......lol.
