Title: Ack. Need your help picking new monitor.
Post by: crazydog on June 01, 2008, 05:43:29 AM
Since I'm getting $100 to newegg as a grad. present (instead of the gift-giver just buying one of these for me), I've decided to spend it on a new monitor.

So of course the hard part is picking one.

I've narrowed it down to these 6, but they're so extremely similar.

Any recommendations?

If you know of a different monitor, I'm not looking to spend more than $200

Leet's suggestion is good, but, if you want a better contrast ratio (3000:1) and access time (2ms *smokin*) your better off with this ViewSonic (and they know their monitors):

Sure, it's a 19" and not a 22" but size isn't everything. It's the same monitor I have and it has gone down in price....and it's only 30$ more than you were originally going to spend. It's worth the extra $30 to get a better monitor from a better company. I highly recommend it.

Yea. 19" is really the sweet spot for me since first I'll be taking it either on plane train or automobile for 300 miles to bring it to college, and if I'm not going to drive it might be hard to get a 22" to fit in a bag easily with tons of other stuff.

Also, saving space on my desk there is a plus.

(Also after the MIR is right at the price I was looking for.)
