I'm normally running around a gig usage at idle. I install 4 more gigs today for a total of 8gb and now I am using around 1.30 gigs at idle. Is it using more because I have more to offer?
Reminds me of my wife and kids...

That's windows for ya. Vista is even worse memory hog then XP, if you're running it.
-
Yea, which of the vista "features" do you have running? Try turning of aero, sidebar, other wastes of memory that just make Vista look nice.

You have 8 Gigs of Ram and you are complaining about using 1.5 Gigs of it?
No big deal as you have plenty of Ram.

You have 8 Gb of RAM :thebirdman: I don't see the problem :-D

Well,
I using 1,410MB at idle. I have a network monitor running and slide bar with some other bells and whistle's
CD e6320
8 gig 2GB PC2-6400 DDR2
evga 570 sli split-a
currently 2 9600gt
some generic big fan powersupply that sli rated 650watt
I going to be making a MB upgrade and processor soon..
I found that some of the *32 processes grow in size accourding to memory pool and the damn slide bar can be a hog depending on how many Gadgets (useless crap that i seem to like) you use.

you went up in usage due to having to manage that much more actually. since you're spreading the data across more space, you need to manage all that space.
