-
Your going to have to be more specific....what exactly are you trying to do, hook your PC up to your TV?
-
yeah sorry lol, i'm basically trying to watch like movies I have downloaded like DVDrips and things DivX vids on my tv from my pc
-
What kind of connections does your tv have? If it has a DVI your golden.
-
I dont think I have one of those =(, i have vga, composite, component, and hdmi
-
If you have VGA you can get a DVI-to-VGA converter and use your old cable or another DVI cable. Thats the simplest solution.

you mean a DVI cable like the one that came with your monitor? sure thing...noob.
Heres another option if you have two DVI's on your video card and an extra HDMI on your TV

just tell me what lappy you have and I'll sort out a solution for you...if it's like mine it has a vga and s-video...then it's easy...we'll get you set up don't you worry.
-
I have an hp pavillion dv5000
-
According to you user manual you have an S-Video out so I'd use that....
This one should be what you need

You'll have to set up the dual display but when you plug it in it might detect it...if not let me know.

No, it just means it doesn't hold itself in....mine is the same way.
-
so with that good news, i should get the dvi to vga converter, plug that into my vga port, then get a cable to plug into my tv?
-
You need a VGA (or S-video) to whatever input your using on your TV
