Mkay..i had lots of troubles yesterday with my computer but it's fixed now..sort of. To get it to boot i had to remove my graphics card, sound card, and removed the CMOS battery twice.
Now, I have the graphics and sound cards installed. But, it shows the sound card as new hardware...when i try to plug in my headset to it...my comp restarts. I got out the driver CD to re-install. I'm at work right now, but should that fix the problem?

it is definitetly a hardware to driver issue. thats why. also make sure it is seated well in the slot.

yea today i finally concluded it's the motherboard. i'm gonna RMA/upgrade if newegg will let me like MDK says they will. GOIN INTEL BABY
on another thought...what card should i go with : radeon 3850/3870 or the 8800GT?

8800gt - they are down to $199 now. ATI is dead - NVidia all the way.

NVidia is the way to go...ATI got bought out by AMD so if I were you I'd steer clear of anything from them. I would suggest (because thats what I got):
EVGA 512-P3-N802-AR GeForce 8800GT Superclocked 512MB (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130319)

Go with the 8800. Ati sucks, and everyone who has one knows it too. The last three I have had went doa.
