I get that alot jumping back and forth between playing tf2 and css. When that happens I shut steam down then open and it back up and I'm all set.

Or you can go into steam and right click on the game, scroll down to properties, and verify game cache integrity. That has helped me before. Tust throwing another idea out there.
good luck

That's all i ever did.

deleting the ClientRegistry.blob file which resides in the main steam folder will usually fix most problem. Also verifying the game cache will help out also.

That is more of a last resort thing, in my personal opinion.

I think those options are something you should try before uninstall which is truly the last resort.

I find the uninstall time takes nothing, cause i have discs, so i just gotta update and that takes an hour or so for me on average.

And that takes longer than deleting a file and verifying the game cache? I think not. Soon you will learn the ways of the Force young padawan.

I get that problem when my video card drivers get all fucked up. TF2 screws them up for CS:S. When I try to play CS:S after a long play with TF2 the game starts the just shuts down. Alot of the steam games rely heavily on the video drivers so I would check them out.
Download driver cleaner pro
install driver cleaner
download video drivers
uninstall video drivers
restart in safe mode
run driver cleaner
select video card to clean
restart normal
reinstall drivers
usually works for all video errors
