To get the best quality out of the 360 is it enough to just flip the switch on the a/v cable to the hdtv or do you need an hdmi cable, or is that just for the hd dvd player

I believe the 360 elite has the HDMI input, but the older white Xbox's don't.  If you can go HDMI thats prob the best.

All the new ones now have HDMI on them.  You can use component or HDMI to get a High End HD Signal.  HDMI just allows audio over it also and is digital where component is analog

yea i was gonna say, over break my little bro got the premium, without the HDMI, and were were able to use the swith on the cord to get HD on our 50'' plasma, looked great too
