Title: TF2 update coming soon...new weapons (and map styles).
Post by: crazydog on January 23, 2008, 04:03:08 PM
Just in case you guys didn't hear about this. (http://www.computerandvideogames.com/article.php?id=180201)

The new update to TF2 that's supposed to be coming by the end of march has some new details!

Aside from 36 new medic achievements, there will be a new update to the game (for each class, starting with medic though), that will introduce unlockable weapons!

The medic's first unlockable weapon is another medigun, that instead of just buffing players to 150% health, it will boost the health to 200% permanently (until hurt). BUT: to counter this advantage it has a disadvantage that will either be a slower ubercharge or no ubercharge at all.

You unlock that gun after you complete half of the new achievements.
The other medigun upgrade unlocks after you complete all 36, although there are no details on that one so far.

The new maps, including a port of cp_badlands, comes with a map with a new play style called "Goldrush".

The blue team has to escort a mining cart through a dustbowl style map (moving up through three parts, I'm guessing) within a time limit. The more blue team members around the cart, the faster it moves, and if even one red player is near it, it will stop moving.

Sounds fun...but some of those new medic achievements aren't too easy!

(?)=not sure if that's what it is
