Are the stats that come from the CS servers linked to this web page?
I hope they aren't, but if they are- seek another host for that =(

well we had hl stats but then moved to phyco stats cause hl was laggin the server. I think we since got rid of phyco and put back on hl, maybe, but i just don't think that widow linked it to the site. If not i don't think we have stats on right now.

yeah we have hl stats and we did go to another server and we didnt like it so hl is what we are sticking with

got nothing to do with the hlstats. The same stats for the gungame are here for the pub. The problem is, at times, our firewall. Since our stats database is on the game servers the webserver sometimes is very slow to retrieve the stats. We will be getting a new firewall for the web server soon so bare with us.

I was wondering if the web server is being taxed by talking back and forth to the game servers and is the reason why your website is so slow.
If it is, buy an inexpensive host just for the stats and then display them via I-Frame or w/e. If you want help with any web stuff, I am a web designer. I can help.

When we had our server up I hosted the hlstats.. so i was always tinkering with it.. i did notice some (usually little) choke spikes.. which i think is related to sending your stats real-time (as it reads every bit of information and dumps it into a log) and sends that information to separate server.. which means you would really only notice when it matters, that is, in combat. I never could figure out a means of eliminating that issue other than hosting the stats on the same server.. which could raise a handful of other issues.. such as site traffic.. and server lag. unless the host is willing to setup another nic and ip dedicated per service (namely the stats server and web-server separate from the game server), and unless you are running your own server.. good luck.

Well here is how it goes. The pub is on one box, along with the pub it the perl script and the database running on the same box. This allows for faster retrieval of ingame stats and also parsing of the stats in real time. There is hardly any lag at all because everything is running locally. Now the web page is running on a different box here in Rhode Island. This box connects to the appropriate game server box and retrieves the data from the game server. This is also virtually lagless, My new word, because mysql makes the connection, runs the query, disconnects then displays the data. I do not use persistent connections so that the bandwidth is released for the game. Back when the site was lagging, it was because of the firewall we had installed, now that that firewall has been replaced with a different one things have been fine so far.
Anything else that needs to be explained, please google it. :thebirdman:
