:headbang: < so this is me being rather frustrated at the current state of affairs with my gaming comp.
So firstly I'm not dead, just on motherboard induced hiatus.
Our story begins as do all things with MDK and computer support :)
Long ago my computer began crashing on a rather regular basis, just ask anyone that played with me over the summer. So MDK and I sat down to identify the problem. We determined that my fastrack controller on my motherboard was causing fatal exceptions due to hardware problems. After trying to reflash its bios unsuccessfully and with the deteriorating status of my computer we decided upgrades were necessary.
Due to my cash strapped existence, moreso now due to unemployment and college. we attempted to salvage my Processor an AMD 64 fx53 and power supply and other goodies.
However in order to salvage a processor one must purchase a motherboard with the correct pinsocket. the fx53 is a 940 pin the motherboard we decided would be best was a 939 pin, so i was a bit pissed at myself. Then the powersupply I had revealed that it is a 16 pin rather than a 24 or a 20 and 4 which made it also incompatible, so at this point Ive sunk about 400$ish into my box and still need a new gfx card before i can even bother booting the beast to see if it works.
Anyway Ive learned a lot from the experience so i don't consider it a bad turn of events.
but this is just to say, I'm comming back. Eventually, basically once I'm employed and can afford to purchase my new gfx card. Just wanted to say hi and apologize for my long absence.

what kind of gfx card do you need? AGP or PCIE? Because I'm thinking of upgrading my gfx card and could sell you my 6600GT PCIE card

7950GT kicks ass!

Speaking of fatalexceptions... ;) You need some parts? I'm a PC Technician by trade... lemme know what you need... at the very least, if I don't have it here, I can get it for you at cost. :)
I have a spare 939 Mobo + CPU here, PSUs I'd have to take a look, I have a bunch kickin' around, but they may not be ATX 2.03 / 24Pin. Hell... I have a few spare PCs lying around too...
Lemme know what's up.

Hmm... I don't have anything on hand (at home) but I'll check at the store (CompUSA) and see what I can get you at cost for around that much.
I could probably ship it to you right from the store, whenever.
