Title: Speed Test Site near our servers

I found this site and it is in Ashburn Va. I think it is the closet one to where our servers are located.  I just ran it and got 22.3 Mbps down and 735 up.

Not to bust your bubble my friend. But your speed is only a small factor for ping and gameplay. It is good to find out how fast your connection is and get how much "bandwidth" you have. But the real factor is "hops" to the server. Not saying bandwidth doesn't help, but pretty much everyone has a broadband connection and is easily capable of sending the 100 packets/sec for updates to and from the server. The real problem is the way the information gets to and from the server. So this is dependant on the amount of routers you bounce off of to get there. Run a tracert to our server and you will see what I mean.

Believe me I know !!!  The speed test is a good quick indicator of other problems if you getting real poor results in the test.

It took me 15 hops from where i'm at. Is that good or bad?

Where do you live? All depends on where you are in relation to the site. I am 6 hops away but I live in Delaware and our servers are in Silver Srping MD which is less than 100 miles from where i live.

I live in loretto minnesota which is about 35 miles west of minneapolis.

True they are actually in Reston, VA. Silver Springs, MD where this Speed Test site is located is 40 miles as the crow flies from Reston.  :notworthy:
