Where I live, I am stuck with Adelphia HSI. No DSL, or other cable providers will cover my area. I was paying an additional $17.00 per month for the Premium HSI. Anyway, because I feel that Adelphia is extremely over-priced I do not want to pay that additional charge if I do not have to. On the Premium package I recieved 6 Mbps \ 768 Kbps. I am trying the basic package which is 4 Mbps \ 384 Kbps. Just wondering if anyone has had a similar situation. If it makes that much of a difference(as far as gaming goes), I will get the higher speeds turned back on. Any thoughts?

cable companies respond well to brute force and threats, so I think you should find a way to get your 6mbps for free.

My god you are getting fucked!!
Anyway the 4mb is more than enough, I am not sure on the upspeed though. I think you will still be ok but...
I pay 44 bucks and I get 6mb down and 2mb up

LOL Guiness! You're probably on a T1. As for you, Rage, um...the HSI is faster both ways. Obviously. Is your latency (ping) any different without the premium package? If the answer to that is 'not by much'...don't waste the money on the premium package.

I also have high speed cable at 10mb down and 2mb up with unlimited download limit for $45...

That's exactly what I've got too. Seems most of Canada has cable internet at that speed. Even the bumkin towns have access to either cable or DSL at 10mbps.

4mbps is def. plenty. If you dont want to spend the extra money, forget the premium. You wont notice a change most likely.
