Notice how the athiest said "beating children" and "a woman is half a man"...the way he quoted that took it out of context. Plus, half of the stuff in the OLD testiment is made irrelevant through the new testemant.

Porn and the bible...how can you compar the two?

One is sacred to many people across the world (textwise), the other not. (well, maybe to perverts and Larry Flint)

I believe that the universe was created through science (big bang, etc)... and everything has evolved along the lines of what science states. But maybe God created the universe, and let it take care of it self? No one really knows. A lot of the stuff in the Bible does seem kind of unbelievable, but it doesn't mean it never happened. No one has proof either ways. There could be a God sure, and if people believe in him, power to them.
I think religion was set up to give people hope, something to live for when life leaves them with nothing. So to say that someone is retarded in believing in a god, with no proof saying that there isn't.... is pretty ignorant.

Religion and its many interpretations are the basis for the most heinous acts ever committed. Believe in what you want, dont just be led along on a leash though. What religion you choose shouldnt be based on popularity. What you believe in shouldnt be shoved down others throats either.

George Carlin does a wonderful bit on religion in his post 9/11 stand up act, be sure and check it out... I'll be over here worshippin the sun.
