Go download it.  If you need an invite, then let you googler friends know.  It's google's IM, and it simple, and easy to use, tells you when you have new mail as soon as you get it, take very little system resources and best of all works with my LAN at work.  Most work places don't ban the google clients for some reason.  maybe because not too many people use them?  I'm not sure why....
